Cold Weather Advisory: Phosphate Products

 

An Important Reminder for our Carus orthophosphate, zinc orthophosphate, polyphosphate, and blended phosphate distributors and end-use customers:

Now that we are entering into the winter months, in many regions of the United States and Canada we are experiencing extended periods of cold days and nights.  This means that liquid phosphate products may be exposed to low temperatures during transportation and storage.  The Phosphate Product Team wants you to be aware of the following guidelines that are based on Quality Control Laboratory analyses and field data:

 

AQUA MAG® and AQUA MAG® 9000 Blended Phosphate Series Products
CACLIQUEST® Water Treatment Chemical Series Products
CARUS 8000 Water Treatment Chemical Series Products
CARUS K-5 Water Treatment Chemical
AQUADENE® Series Products

CAUTION: Exposure to temperatures < 38 oF (3 oC) may cause the product to increase in viscosity.  It may become cloudy and/or freeze.

 

 

CARUS™ 1000 Water Treatment Chemical Series Products

CAUTION: Exposure to temperatures < 38 oF (3 oC) may cause the product to increase in viscosity.  It may become cloudy and/or freeze.

WARNING: This product may not be freeze/thaw stable

 

 

CARUS 3000 Water Treatment Chemical Series Products (with exception of CARUS™ 3890 and 3900 Water Treatment Chemical Products)

CAUTION: Exposure to temperatures < 0 oF (-18 oC) may cause the product to increase in viscosity.  It may become cloudy and/or freeze.

WARNING: This product may not be freeze/thaw stable

 

 

CARUS 3890 and 3900 Water Treatment Chemical Series Products

CAUTION: Exposure to temperatures < 40 oF (4 oC) may cause the product to increase in viscosity.  It may become cloudy and/or freeze.

WARNING: This product may not be freeze/thaw stable

 

 

CARUS 4100 Water Treatment Chemical

CAUTION: Increase in viscosity will occur at low temperatures.  Exposure to temperatures < 0 oF (-18 oC) for consecutive days is not recommended.

 


CARUS 4105 Water Treatment Chemical Product

CAUTION: Exposure to temperatures < 10 oF (-12 oC) for consecutive days may cause the product to increase in viscosity.  It may become cloudy and/or freeze.

 

 

CARUS 4200 Water Treatment Chemical Product

CAUTION: Exposure to temperatures < 50 oF (10 oC) for consecutive days may cause the product to increase in viscosity.  It may become cloudy and/or freeze.

 


CARUS 4500 Water Treatment Chemical Product

CAUTION: Exposure to temperatures < 25 oF (-4 oC) for consecutive days may cause the product to increase in viscosity.  It may become cloudy and/or freeze.

 

CALCIQUEST® Liquid SE-100A Water Treatment Chemical

CAUTION: Increase in viscosity will occur at low temperatures.  Exposure to temperatures < 45 oF (7 oC) for consecutive days is not recommended.
