MUNICIPAL APPLICATIONS – Phosphates

Corrosion Control

CARUS ORTHO and AQUA MAG® DP

CARUS ORTHO and AQUA MAG® DP orthophosphates, and CARUS UPZ™ 985 ultra pure zinc orthophosphate are among the most effective products approved for drinking water corrosion control.  Our products will help to maintain system infrastructure, mains, valves, and meters and ensure compliance with the Lead & Copper Rule by minimizing corrosion in your distribution system.  As dictated by the Lead & Copper Rule, municipalities are required to implement a treatment program when lead and/or copper levels in drinking water exceed action levels (0.015 mg/L for lead and 1.3 mg/L for copper) to minimize the release of lead/copper by-products from plumbing, soldered joints, and brass fixtures. Action Levels

The Safe Drinking Water Act was passed by Congress in 1974 to set drinking water standards for public water supplies.  In December 1992, the Lead and Copper Rule was added and requires a treatment program when lead and/or copper in drinking water exceeds the action level.

Like fingerprints, no two drinking water supplies are the same.  Carus Corporation can help ensure compliance with the Lead & Copper Rule, eliminate red and black water, prevent scaling, and solve other drinking water headaches.  Contact Carus Corporation for a corrosion inhibitor and dosage recommendation based on your specific water quality and treatment goals.

AQUA MAG® TK and AQUA MAG® C-10

AQUA MAG® TK and AQUA MAG® C-10 polyphosphates are among the most effective color and scale controlling agents used to reduce stains, discoloration, and rusty water caused by oxidized iron and manganese in source water.  Carus phosphates sequester Fe, MN, Ca, and Mg to maintain colorless soluble molecules that resist oxidation caused by aeration, disinfection, storage, and transmission of finished water.  By sequestering raw water minerals at the source, the demand for chlorine is reduced, resulting in less chlorine consumption and improved water quality. F-25 Filter Conditioner™

F-25 Filter Conditioner™ is a liquid polymeric complex designed to gradually remove scale and deposits that foul filter beds in water treatment plants.  Inject this product at the filter influent to clean off scale and mud balls caused by iron, manganese, and calcium carbonate. F-25 Filter conditioner™ allows the filter to remain in service during the cleaning process.  Particles dispersed from the media remain trapped in the filter to be removed during backwash, so that finished water is not degraded.  More...

SLURRY TWOTM
Lime Slurry Conditioning Agent

SLURRY TWOTM conditions lime to prevent caking and plugging in mixers and feed lines.  Use Slurry One on long feed lines where plugging may occur.  Use of SLURRY TWOTM can prevent costly excavation or replacement of feed lines that have plugged due to caking of your lime slurry.  More...
