CAIROX™-CR Potassium
Permanganate |
CAIROX™-CR potassium permanganate is a new
form of controlled release permanganate.
Classified as an oxidizing solid, this
product is specifically formulated for
applications at municipal and industrial
wastewater sites where the use of feed
equipment may not be practical. It is
used primarily for the control of odors
and corrosion associated with hydrogen
sulfide. Additional uses of the
CAIROX™-CR
product have been identified including
applications in acid mine drainage and
other industrial settings.
CAIROX™-CR potassium permanganate can be
applied through a specially designed
polyester mesh bag (available through
Carus Corporation). The bag is
filled with the CAIROX™-CR extrusions and
then lowered into the waste stream. The
amount of product fed into the system is
increased by lowering more of the bag into
the wastewater. As original material
dissolves, the amount of product consumed
can be measured by loss in weight and
additional product can be added to the
bag.
