Carus Successfully Completes Responsible Care Management System Recertification

LaSalle/Peru, IL – Carus Corporation has successfully completed the Responsible Care Management System (RCMS) re-certification audit for both their Corporate Headquarters in Peru, IL and the Manufacturing Site in LaSalle, IL without any non-conformance. Carus’ site in Belmont, NC was certified to RCMS, also without any non-conformance.
Responsible Care™ is the American Chemistry Council’s global initiative, for which companies work to improve their health, safety, security, and environmental performance. Carus Corporation is a member of the American Chemistry Council, and an active participant in the industry’s award-winning Responsible Care® initiative, working to make life better, healthier, and safer through chemistry. The American Chemistry Council requires its member companies to complete an independent and successful Responsible Care Management System (RCMS) audit.
The audit process is extensive and prolonged, and is conducted by an independent accredited audit firm that verifies conformance to the technical standards required under the Responsible Care Management System. The audit process lasted for a total of 12 days at Carus’ three sites. Dr. Chithambarathanu Pillai, Carus’ Representative who led the corporation in its certification efforts, credits each and every one of its employees for their hard work, team effort, and cooperation for this successful result.
In the auditor’s closing comments, she noted that Carus made great progress and developed a risk management process that should be a benchmark for other American Chemistry Council member companies. Numerous commendable practices were also noted by the auditor.
