Gerald B. Curran New CFO at Carus Corporation

LaSalle/Peru, IL – Carus Corporation is pleased to announce that Gerald B. Curran has joined Carus Corporation as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective immediately. With his wealth of professional experience and knowledge of the industry, Mr. Curran will be a valuable asset to Carus in dealing with the challenges and opportunities in today’s global economy.

Curran began his career in Chicago at the predecessor firm of Ernst and Young and held increasingly responsible financial positions at several companies including Crane Company and Lowrey Industries Inc. In 1988, he joined Waste Management, Inc. (“WMX”). During his tenure at WMX, he worked as a member of the financial leadership teams at large subsidiaries of the company including Chemical Waste Management, Brand Scaffold Services, and Rust Industrial Services, Inc. He was involved in several major merger and acquisition projects. In 1996, Curran joined Brand Services, Inc., which was acquired from WMX, as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for this $200 million industrial scaffold company with multiple service facilities throughout the U.S. Curran managed the administrative start-up of the new company and reengineered the administrative and finance organizations for a stand-alone company. In 1998, Curran accepted the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for LaRoche Industries, Inc., a $750 million commodity chemical company. His responsibilities included financial reporting, acquisition and divestiture activities and overall cost administration during a period of severely depressed commodity chemical prices. In 2003 Curran joined K2 Industrial Services Inc. as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer where he developed the financial organization and reporting system. In 2005, Curran joined Tatum, LLC, as a partner in the Chicago practice. Tatum, the nation’s largest and fastest-growing executive services firm, provides expertise to companies to provide them with strategic and operating leadership during times of transition or to accelerate business.

Curran has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He and his wife Sharon reside in Hickory Hills, IL, and Curran will be based in Carus Corporation’s Peru, IL Corporate Office.
