Sequestering/Corrosion Control

Corrosion Control:
Each water system has its own unique water quality issues that need to be addressed to provide an effective corrosion control program. Carus provides the science behind controlling corrosion in your distribution system by choosing the right product for your water quality issues.

Lead and Copper Control:
Carus products will help to maintain system infrastructure, mains, valves, and meters and ensure compliance with the Lead & Copper Rule by minimizing corrosion in your distribution system.

Red Water (iron)/Black Water (manganese) Issues:
Discolored water issues can be caused by corrosion in distribution systems or by dissolved metals in water. Both of these issues can be addressed after looking at key water quality parameters for your water system and choosing the right specially blended phosphates for your system.

Sequestering:
The use of products, such as AQUA MAG® blended phosphate, in a distribution system allows the municipality to avoid unsightly stains and sediment. AQUA MAG will sequester, or hold the soluble cations such as iron, manganese, calcium, or magnesium in solution, and keep them from causing the stains and scale.

Scale Control:
Many water systems contain calcium or magnesium which can deposit in distribution systems as a scale. This scale can restrict flow, plug water meters, and even block water lines in houses completely. Carus products can prevent this scale formation and even remove old scale deposits ensuring that water flow is not interrupted at the consumer’s tap.
