LaSalle/Peru, IL – Carus Corporation is pleased to announce the addition of Pamela J. Dugan, Ph.D., to their Hazardous Remediation team. Pamela received her Ph.D. under Dr. Robert Siegrist in the Environmental Science and Engineering Division at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. She will be leading the Carus research and development group as the Technical Development Manager, Hazardous Remediation.

Dugan has significant experience in the environmental remediation field with particular expertise in coupling surfactants and cosolvents together with in situ chemical oxidation with permanganate for Dense Nonaqueous Phase Liquids mass removal. Her graduate research was part of a project entitled “Reaction and Transport Processes Controlling In Situ Chemical Oxidation of Dense Nonaqueous Phase Liquids.” The work was awarded the 2005 Outstanding Project of the Year (Project CU-1290) within the Department of Defense Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program. She has published numerous technical papers and book chapters and presented at over 30 national and international conferences. Pamela’s professional experience with the Indiana Geological Survey, Indiana Department of Environmental Management, and Indiana State Chemist’s Office, as well as her academic experience at the world-class engineering school, the Colorado School of Mines, will augment the Carus Hazardous Remediation team and enable Carus to better serve and understand the unique client needs and requirements prevalent in today’s remediation market.

Dugan earned her B.S. in Geology from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is a registered Professional Geologist (P.G.). She will report to Matt Dingens, Global Manager of Hazardous Remediation, and will have the support of Carus’ global Sales and Marketing team. Pamela will be based out of Carus Corporation’s Peru, IL, office.
