LaSalle/Peru, IL – On 15 August 2008, Carus Corporation celebrated one year without a lost-time incident. This is a significant milestone which was achieved because of the commitment and dedication of all Carus’ employees. As a top priority for the Corporation, Carus employees are trained daily to focus on safety, teamwork, and thinking through a task before it’s started. According to Chris Backos, Carus’ Safety Professional, employees have logged 463,172 work hours without losing a day of work due to an accident or incident.
John Bortak, VP of Manufacturing of Carus Corporation, stated, “We strive every day to promote workplace health and safety at Carus. We provide training and knowledge, but the basic responsibility lies with each individual. This is a continuous effort by everyone to work safely.
